on bipolar disorder.
The Bipolar Help Program™
The Bipolar Help Program is a multi-media outreach program designed
to educate the public about the most deadly of mental illnesses
–bipolar disorder.
Bipolar Help gives participants an up close and personal window
into the extreme world of bipolar disorder (manic-depression). The
Bipolar Help Program provides live in-person presenters equipped
with multi-media assets including print and video materials.
This program sheds light on this frequently misunderstood and
under diagnosed disease. Bipolar disorder can be both a maker of
greatness, and a destroyer of lives. The afflicted walk among us
mostly unseen, until they rocket into the extreme highs of mania
or deadly lows of depression.
See what its like to have this disease through the eyes of those
who have it. Meet young men and women who live successfully with
the disease, meet others who are disabled by its symptoms.
Hear about the struggles families and friends face in maintaining
relationships with a person who is bipolar.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The program has four basic components:
1. Presenter delivers a multi-media presentation on bipolar disorder
with emphasis on the consumer side of mental illness, wellness and
recovery (or other as desired).
2. Video
a. Video Presentation: As part of the presentation the audience
will be shown selected video interviews of individuals with bipolar
disorder. As the project progresses we will be adding interviews
with professionals and caregivers.
3. Print Media: Informational materials and brochures are handed
out as part of the presentation.
4. Additional Resources: We have created a companion website at
bipolarhelp.org. This site is dedicated to video-casting the multi-media
